Dear Parents,
As part of the fourth grade curriculum our students have the chance to take a field trip to St. Augustine. We will visit St. Augustine on December 12, 2011. The field trip to St. Augustine covers many important fourth grade standards and is an excellent learning experience.
In order to make this field trip a success we will need several chaperones. To be a chaperone you must be ADDitions approved; this process can take several weeks so please become an ADDition Volunteer right away if you are interested.
*All students must be transported via the bus both ways.

7:10 A.M. Board ESCOT Motor Coaches at your school.
7:30 A.M. Depart for St. Augustine.
9:30 A.M. Arrive in St. Augustine, Florida. Your DMC Ventures, LLC Representative will greet you at the Visitor Information Center and direct groups to scheduled appointments. Your DMC Ventures, LLC Rep will be on hand throughout the day to assist with group activities.
· Enjoy a narrated tour of St. Augustine aboard Old Town Trolley Tours of St. Augustine. Sit back as talented conductors share the history and sights on a 7-mile journey through the Nation’s Oldest City.
· Take a guided tour through the Castillo de San Marcos, the first national monument. Built between 1672 - 1695, the Castillo was never taken in battle.
· The Oldest Wooden School House is housed in the original building constructed over 200 years ago of Red Cedar and Cypress. Students will get a firsthand account of how different “school days” were for the colonial children.
· Step back in time to the Old Florida Museum. Enjoy candle dipping, rope making, colonial games, corn grinding, woodworking, weaving, and fence building.
· Enjoy Free Time on St. George Street. This pedestrian street offers a variety of shopping options for visitors along six blocks that are closed to vehicular traffic.
· Boxed lunches catered by Subway. 6” Turkey Sub, Chips, Bottled Water and Cookie.
4:00 P.M. Tour ends. Depart.
6:15 P.M. Arrive back at school.

I would like to be a chaperone on the December 12, 2011 field trip to St. Augustine. The first six parents, from each homeroom who are fully paid (parent and child) will be given space on the bus. Additional parents may choose to follow the bus in their own vehicle.
*All chaperones will need to pay the $50.00 fee which includes lunch.
